Portraits: Multiplicity

In this black-and-white portrait series, identity fractures, multiplies, and collides with itself. “Multiplicity” explores the complexity of schizophrenia and the coexistence of different personalities within a single individual.

The contrast between expressions, emotions, and gestures captures the tension between self-awareness and fragmentation. Laughter and anguish, confidence and doubt, control and chaos, each face tells a different truth, yet they all belong to the same person.

By stripping away color, the series intensifies the rawness of these dualities. Light and shadow become more than aesthetic choices; they symbolize the push and pull of reality and illusion, the shifting perception of one’s own existence.

“Through these portraits, we are invited to question the fluid nature of identity. Who are we, truly, when our mind is a shifting landscape of selves?”
